Okay, today's post ( and the next couple ones) is inspired by this prompt, and by the idea of my friend Torra. Fair warning: if you are not a Whovain this will be half as fun and a little confusing. With that out of the way; enjoy!
Madison fluffed her tawny hair up in the mirror. She wanted to make extra sure she looked good. It wasn't every day you were given a teaching award, after all. She put on a little more lipstick. Just as she was adding the final dab, she heard a strange whirring noise.
WHooSHwhOOshWHooSHwhOOsh
Madison stepped outside the restroom to see where it was coming from, hoping it wasn't the speakers, her speech needed proper deliverance. Seeing nothing, she went back in.
It was then she noticed a mirror she hadn't seen before. It was full length, with a tarnished silver frame. It looked very old, and rather hard to miss. As she stood in front of it, to adjust her skirt, she noticed a piece of the frame that didn't quite fit with the rest. Instead of the flowing, almost word-like pattern, there was a small rosebud at the top right corner.
Now, had she read any good kind of storybook, she would have known right away that a spectacular adventure was starting. Or at the very least that it was no ordinary mirror. But Madison had not read those kinds of books since she had left the cradle. She was a very no-nonsense person, which, of course, is what made her a good teacher. So she reached up as far as her small frame would allow, and pressed the rosebud.
And TIME! Sorry folks, that's all you get today. I'll try to write more tomorrow. Hope you like it so far! Ta-for now.
