She hesitated, the breath of their taunts ringing in her ears as she teetered on the edge of the window sill.
Could she do it? Did she trust Him enough? Did she trust herself enough? Mabye she had taken the "boast in faith assignment" a touch too far.
Please God. She thought. If you have ever loved me, give me courage now.
Suddenly she felt a shove from behind. Her eyes widened as she went over the edge. The wind rushed in her ears she went down, down, down.
Then, suddenly it was as if a giant, invisible hand had caught her from underneath. Gently, it guided her to the ground.
Before she could fully register what had happened, a still, small voice whispered in her ear.
"Meline, I have always loved you."
