The Rithmatist

      I don't normally read steam-punk style books, not out of dislike, just not my kind of book. However, I fell in love with this book. 

      It's set in a sort of alternate-dimension America, where the United Isles are connected by train bridges. The U.I is protected from wild chalklings by Rithmatists, sorcerers who can put life into two dimensional chalk drawings.

       The book centers on Joel, who'd give anything to be a Rithmatist, and Melody, who'd give anything to stop being one. Their world is turned upside down when students from their school start to disappear...

        My review recipe for this book: 2 cups of adventure, 3 cups of danger, a dash of magic, and a sprinkling of mystery.
